I live in the opposite of a warm, desert climate. So cactus pears aren’t something our local grocery store usually carries. However, they have started to carry them recently, and I’ve had fun figuring out what to do with them. My favorite thing is to throw them in smoothies. Smoothies are a great way to pump my kids full of fruits and vegetables.
A friend mentioned that she called her green smoothies “Hulk Smoothies”, and her boys loved to drink them then flex their muscles. Isn’t that fun? I hope you enjoy this fruit/veggie combination!
Cactus Pear Green Smoothie

4 cactus pears
1 vanilla yogurt
1 apple
1 banana
