I often hear people who are interested in drawing say that the human figure is very hard for them. I love drawing and painting the human figure. It’s so fluid and is never the same. I think people get frustrated because everyone knows what another human looks like, but their drawings don’t look quite right and they don’t know how to fix them. Well, I’m here to help out…and some of these things might surprise you (as always, these are general guidelines to follow, not rules set in stone)!
Did you know……….?
……the average man is six to seven of his heads tall
……your foot is usually the same length as the area of your arm between your elbow and wrist
……that your hand is as big as your face (people draw hands too small all the time)
…….and the human head splits up into thirds very nicely. Your forehead usually takes up the top third. Children’s foreheads take up nearly half of their head; much more than adults!

It’s kind of interesting, huh!
Have a lovely day…
