Family photographs.
At one time, I religiously scrapbooked them. That ended in 2008, with the birth of my last child. Somewhere between three kids, interior design school, a crazy economy, my husband starting his own company, then ME starting my own company, the scrapbooking took a back seat. I have piles of pictures in storage bins and even more filed on my computer.
Are you in the same boat?
I want desperately to form all of them into books, as well as create a beautiful gallery wall with them.
But not in color.
I want to convert all of them to black and white.
Why?
It’s really simple.
If I had left the above picture of my son in color, you would have noticed the red motorbike and his bright swim trunks.
Now I notice his eyes.
This morning I converted a few more pictures over to black and white through Picasa. Can I just say, I’m dying!!
In a good way.
This picture is one of my favorites.
It’s my grandmother. Isn’t she beautiful? This moment is so precious.
No matter what decor you have, black and white photography works.
It becomes a quiet supporter, a conversation starter, a glimpse into the hearts of our loved ones.
Do you have black and white photography in your home?
I think I will soon have a lot more……
