Today’s post has got nothing to do with design, so you an opt out now…you’ve been warned:). And those of you who live here might find this to be the “same-old” stuff you see every day, but I thought I might show the other readers what a Wyoming Christmas is like (at least with my family).
One of the really fun things my dad did for all of the children and grand-children was to get out the big team of horses and take everyone for a good, old-fashioned sleigh ride. When I was little, we fed the cows this way. Although my dad doesn’t feed that way anymore, he keeps a team around for winter fun, and vows he always will as long as he can.
This is Mike and Golley (short for Goliath). My dad is holding my youngest, and my oldest is petting Golley’s nose.
Here’s a shot of the whole sleigh.
We always tied smaller sleds to the back and have a fun time trying to dump each other out. Dave and I even gave it a try (it has been a really long time since I’ve done that)!
And one last bareback ride before the horses are put away:
There is nothing better than the “waking-up” picture on Christmas morning:
Christmas was good to us…even MiMi found a little something from Santa.
I hope your Christmas was a good one! It’s so fun to have the kids home from school. A week is perfect. Happy Monday…I’m sure there is still some fun coming for you as the New Year approaches.
