Just for fun today, I thought I would share some photos of our Christmas tree hunt. Getting the Christmas tree is my favorite tradition. I suppose it’s because I love trail running and it gets me into the mountains again. We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth. I thought it would be fun for those reading the blog in different parts of the country/world to see a “Wyoming” Christmas tree hunt.
The canyon we’re in is pretty much my backyard. I know….I’m pretty lucky. We got to go with friends this year, which was the absolute best!
{ piling out of our vehicles }
{ kids and our dog, playing in the snow before the hike }
{ Meems, as we call her, has been the sweetest dog. She’s 3 years old. She loves to run! }
{ the hike begins }
{ “I think there’s one over here…..” }
{ “Never mind.”
Evidence of bush-whacking left on Daddy’s head }
{ back to hunt again….waiting. little ones getting cold. }
{ me snapping this picture and wondering if it will make a good painting. I still haven’t decided. }
{ at last! success. }
{ home again, home again, jiggety-jig }
Our decorations are all homemade. I tie on strips of fabric (pink and green this year) and the kids drew (made) paper ornaments. It’s not something that will make the next issue of Country Living magazine, but it feels like Christmas at our house now.
What’s your favorite tradition during the Christmas/holiday season?
