Yesterday was very exciting!
We got one step closer to our dream of having a place where we can live with our horses. We closed on 5 acres in Bedford, WY.
The property has beautiful mountain views and an irrigation canal running through it.
We’ve decided to call our place Lost Creek Stables.
Here we’ll build a small but beautiful farmhouse, a horse barn (complete with a wash bay), a garden, pastures with fenced trees, and a riding corral.
Our daughters and son will be able to learn to work and care for our horses, which have all become part of our family. Let me formally introduce you to them.
Doc is J’s horse. He’s our 9 year old buckskin paint. We love this guy! He has enough spirit and spunk to keep up with the athletic horses, but he’s sweet as well. I would say he’s our cuddler.
Mack is our 13 year old. We haven’t had him very long. He has a scarred leg we need to nurse, but soon he’ll be in tip-top condition. He lets the kids lay on him bareback. The biggest of our horses; he’s quiet, slow, and calm.
Henry was our first horse. He’s a small Haflinger. He has an arthritic knee (a condition from birth), so he can only be ridden in a corral. He loves the kids too. Yesterday I snapped a photo of him “hugging” our youngest.
As we dream, scheme, design, and build, I hope you’ll join us for the journey. It’s going to be a fun ride!
