Remember the art I created for an elementary school? Well, they wanted a few more paintings, this time for a large wall inside the secretary’s office. The school gathered pictures from random students, and then together, we chose three of the best pictures…ones that all had a common thread or theme to them.
We ended up with a playful, outdoor theme.
Here is one of the drawings we chose, in all of it’s wrinkled glory:
I’m painting these pictures onto 4 ft x4 ft canvases! Here is one I’ve nearly finished….I haven’t decided if it needs more color or not. Sometimes simple is the best way to go. I’ll work on the other two and get them to the same level. Then we’ll see if we want to take them further, with more color and more paint.
To show you how large these are, I had my four year old stand next to them.
The paint is thick, and they are going to take awhile to dry! Here are some close-ups of the texture.
So, I’d love to hear your advice! Do you think we need more color, or do you like the simplicity of the painting right now?
